Traditional industrial coatings contain a large amount of organic solvents, which are mostly volatilized during construction and drying. This not only seriously pollutes the environment and endangers human health, but also causes a great waste of resources. According to the data, the total VOC volatilized from steel products and their facilities in the coating process accounts for about 20% ~ 25% of the total VOC in the world, and has become one of the main sources of atmospheric pollution. Therefore, the application of water-based coatings instead of solvent based coatings in industrial anti-corrosion coating has very important practical significance for building a harmonious society and achieving sustainable economic development in China.

Waterborne coatings are coatings using water as a solvent or as a dispersion medium. It has the characteristics of non-toxic, tasteless, low price and rich resources. It can greatly reduce the pollution of the atmosphere caused by the volatilization of organic solvents in the coating. And the use of water as a solvent can greatly improve the safety of the coating during storage, transportation and construction. At present, water-based anti-corrosion coatings have been successfully applied in building decoration, automobile manufacturing, ship and container manufacturing, railway locomotives, aerospace, traffic bridges and wood coating. Waterborne anticorrosive coatings mainly include four categories: waterborne inorganic zinc rich coatings, waterborne epoxy coatings, waterborne acrylic coatings and waterborne polyurethane coatings.

1 waterborne inorganic zinc rich coatings waterborne inorganic zinc rich coatings are generally divided into self curing inorganic zinc rich coatings and post curing inorganic zinc rich coatings. At present, water-based self curing inorganic zinc rich coatings are widely used in the market. The aqueous inorganic zinc rich coating mainly uses the aqueous solution of inorganic silicate (including li4sio4, Na4SiO4, k4sio4, (NH4) 4sio4, etc.) as the base material and zinc powder as the anticorrosive pigment. In order to improve the construction film-forming property and corrosion resistance of the aqueous inorganic zinc rich coating, appropriate additives, such as leveling agent and corrosion inhibitor, shall be added.

Polyketone resin anticorrosive coating mainly has the following characteristics:

(1) The drying speed is fast. At 20 ℃ and 75% relative humidity, it can reach touch drying for about 1H.

(2) The coating has good static conductivity and excellent welding performance.

(3) Excellent corrosion resistance, long-term resistance to chemical corrosion in the range of pH 5.5-10.5; The service life of the waterborne inorganic zinc rich coating can reach 25 years under the marine atmospheric environment.

(4) It can withstand high temperature of 400 ℃ for a long time.

(5) It is clean and environmentally friendly. Water is used as diluent and cleaning agent, and volatile organic compounds are 0. It is environmentally friendly.

(6) The water-based inorganic zinc rich coating also has its disadvantages, which are mainly manifested in that the dry film contains a large amount of zinc powder, resulting in the porosity of the coating; The treatment requirements for the substrate are high and the paint film is brittle; Construction and curing are greatly affected by ambient temperature and humidity.
