What are the characteristics of polyketone resin

Aldehyde resin is a colorless or yellowish aldehyde polycondensation resin. It is insoluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents. It has good compatibility with raw materials in paint / ink formulations and has excellent yellowing resistance.

It is mainly used as a grinding resin for general-purpose color paste and in coating formulation. It has good color development performance and can effectively improve the adhesion, hardness, gloss, solid content and fullness of coating film. It is a multifunctional coating / ink additive.

Because of its excellent compatibility and solvent solubility, aldehyde resin can be used in many types of coatings / ink formulations; It can effectively improve the gloss, adhesion, hardness and yellowing resistance of the coating film; It has good wettability of pigments and fillers, low solubility and melting viscosity, and is a general-purpose slurry grinding resin with excellent performance. When applied in coatings, it can improve the solid content of coatings; It has excellent weather resistance and yellowing resistance.

In order to improve the water solubility of the resin, adjust the viscosity of the water-soluble resin liquid and the smoothness of the coating film, some water-soluble resins must be added with a small amount of cosolvent, such as lower alcohols and alcohol ethers. The selection of cosolvent also needs to consider the performance of the neutralizer amines used. Generally, the solution obtained by using sec butanol as cosolvent has low viscosity and good stability. Correctly selecting the type of cosolvent, or using two types of cosolvent and increasing the dosage of cosolvent is more effective to overcome the abnormal viscosity thickening phenomenon in the dilution process. However, for the water-soluble paint of electrodeposition coating, it is often added with many cosolvents, which is not good for electrodeposition.
