Polyformaldehyde resin has different names. Some people call it aldehyde resin. Its relative density is 1.14~1.19. The melting point is 88~108 ℃. The glass transition temperature is t50 ~ 75 ℃. Soluble in ethanol, isopropanol, toluene, ethyl acetate, acetone, butanone, cyclohexanone, chloroform, etc., slightly soluble in cyclohexane, insoluble in petroleum ether and water.
It has strong adhesion, high luster, high hardness, excellent weather resistance and chemical resistance. It has good compatibility with epoxy resin, phenolic resin, amino resin, chlorinated polypropylene, polyamide, chlorinated rubber, rosin resin, petroleum resin, etc. non-toxic.
Formaldehyde resin is used in nitrocellulose or acetylcellulose paper coatings. It can improve its quick drying, water white, luster, excellent flexibility, abrasion resistance and scrub resistance, and obtain a highly elastic surface.
It is recommended to use about 5% in the whole system. (7) KY-A81 aldehyde resin has excellent heat resistance and can be used for baking paint, especially it will not produce odor or bleach resin. Adding about 5% KY-A81 aldehyde resin to baking finish can speed up the initial physical drying process and improve the dryness of the paint. (8) KY-A81 aldehyde resin is used in chlorinated rubber paint and vinyl chloride copolymer paint. It can replace as much as 10% of base material, reduce viscosity, improve adhesion, reduce membrane pores, and increase luster. (9) The high active hydroxyl value of KY-A81 aldehyde resin can react with isocyanate, so it can be used in polyurethane and other systems to improve the adhesion, water resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance of the system.
